The Four States
The Four States teaches you what to look for, where it shows up first, and how to move yourself from one state to the next.
Most of what happens in a day happens faster than you can catch it.
The reaction arrives before the thought. The tone in your voice shows up before you choose it. The decision gets made somewhere below the surface and you meet it already finished.
You have felt the moment after. The one where you know exactly what happened and it is already three minutes behind you.
That gap is not a character issue. It is a timing issue. And timing is trainable.
The Four States is a practice course. It teaches you four positions you can be in, how to tell which one you are in right now, and how to move yourself between them without needing a recording, a quiet room, or thirty spare minutes.
You learn it the way you learn anything physical. By feel, then by repetition, then by not having to think about it.
Enough steadiness in your body to respond instead of only reacting. This is the floor. Nothing above it works without it.
Watching a pattern run while it is running, without becoming it. This is the state most people have never held for more than a second.
Your choices and your natural way of moving through the world getting closer together. Fewer decisions that need explaining afterward.
Creating on purpose, from your own authority, rather than in response to what arrived.
These are positions, not levels. You move among them all day. The skill is knowing which one you are in and being able to change it.
This teaches you to see.
Working a specific pattern, the one that keeps costing you the same thing in the same relationship or the same part of your work, is a separate skill with its own course called, The Reclaiming. The Four States is what makes that work possible. It is not a smaller version of it.

Do I need to have meditated before?
No. This is built for someone starting from nothing or those looking to experience their meditation practice across the four states.
How long does it take?
The teaching is short. The practice is a few minutes a day. Most people feel the first state clearly within a week.
Is this the same as First Look?
First Look gives you one practice to experience. The Four States teaches you the whole framework and how to run it yourself.
